The long lunch
Lunch is in the garden
A teak table under the trees, lemons and cut flowers from the morning walk, and nobody watching the clock. When the cooking loses its charm, The New Inn is five minutes up the lane.
On the estate
Days that smell of hay and honey
Riding
Caistor Equestrian Centre, out in the Wolds, takes riders from beginners up and runs guided hacks out into the Wolds. Book with them directly — this is a country that rewards seeing it from a horse.
Clay pigeon shooting
A morning on the clays: instruction, guns and cartridges laid on, then lunch at the long table. It suits a corporate party as readily as a birthday — tell us your dates and we will come back with what it takes.
Beekeeping
Meet the hives: suits, smoke and, in season, honey. Ask us when you book and we will see what the season allows.
Estate walks
Walks and woodlands from the door, the walled garden, and the estate mausoleum — ask the office for routes and access.
For the children
A climbing frame in the garden, and a games room with table tennis, air hockey and darts.
Great Limber
The pub is five minutes up the lane
The New Inn, the village pub, is reviewed in the Good Food Guide — supper for sixteen without anyone driving, Sunday lunch before the walk home across the estate.

In our guests’ own hands
“A wonderful week in this beautiful house of character, history and charm. A perfect property for our party of 10 and enjoyed by all the family. All but one braved the 9 mile walk to the pillar and back.”
“We booked the Vicarage House to host our wedding reception in a marquee in the gardens, just a short walk from Saint Peter’s Church where we were married. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting… The welcome tray of provisions for our week long stay was such a thoughtful and unexpected surprise.”
“The Vicarage has provided us with a real ‘home from home’ for our extended family for the week and the celebrations for our son’s wedding in Wootton… cots for grandchildren, grandparents in the cottage and much more… meticulous!”
“We were back for our 3rd visit to this beautiful property! Many thanks for supporting us to celebrate my daughter’s 29th Birthday! We’ll be back.”
